Renewing of the PMP® Certification

A PMP® (Project Management Professional) Certification of the PMI is a priori 3 years valid1) and has to be renewed after this period. To renew the certification, the PMP has to show 60 PDUs (Professional Development Units) during the 3 years cycle. PDUs will be attested for example on presentations and seminars, organized by the PMI or the local PMI chapters, on e-Learning trainings or other self-improvement activities. With the PDUs and Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program the continuing education of the PMPs will be ensured.

The PMP® Certification of Grischa Götzke was renewed at the beginning of 2012 and is valid until 27. May 2015 now.

 1) Exceptions in the duration are the PMP® Certifications of the year 2008. Until 2008 the initial PMP® Certifications ended after 3 years at the end of the year. In 2008 the PMI changed the duration in such a way that it now ends exactly 3 years after the date of the initial certification. To not reduce the duration for already given certifications, this change led to a unique 4 years initial duration for these certificates.
